Flow of Plastic: International final conference

On 21 May 2026, Flow of Plastic – International Final Conference brought together partners, companies, researchers, public organisations and circular economy frontrunners at STUDIO Malmö.

A glimpse into the atmosphere at Flow of Plastic – International Final Conference in Malmö, where partners, companies, researchers and public organisations from across the South Baltic region came together to share solutions for circular plastics.

The conference was organised by the Circular Ocean-bound Plastic (COP) and Retail ReLooped (RELOOPED) projects under the Interreg South Baltic Programme. Together, the two projects connected important parts of the plastic challenge: how to rethink plastic packaging in retail, and how to prevent plastic waste from reaching rivers, coastlines and the Baltic Sea.

The day featured EU perspectives on plastic and circularity, the launch of RELOOPED’s digital toolkit for retail packaging, results from COP’s work on ocean-bound plastic, real-life cases from partners and companies, insights on consumer behaviour, an exhibition with circular solutions and a final panel debate on what comes next.

Across both projects, the message was clear: circular plastic solutions require collaboration across the full value chain – from policy, research and infrastructure to businesses, consumers and local communities.

Thank you to all speakers, partners, exhibitors and participants for contributing to a day of knowledge sharing, practical tools and new connections!

Co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021–2027.
