COP kick off in Gdansk

On September 15, the project group gathered in Gdansk, Poland, for the kick off meeting of the Circular Ocean-bound Plastic (COP) project, a collaborative initiative aimed at combating plastic pollution in the South Baltic Sea.

Our partners from CLEAN, The Foundation Plast Center Denmark, Ocean Plastic Forum, Sustainable Business Hub, Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research, University of Rostock, University of Gdansk, Gdansk Water Foundation, and Gdansk Sports Center met in person for the first time to share their excitement and agree on the terms and plan of the project. The Polish partner, Gdansk Sports Center, showed the rest of the project group around in the beautiful habours of Gdansk where several port bins are located. The bins gather waste in the habours and spurred some great discussions and inspiration for the COP project.

A representative from Interreg South Baltic, who funds the project, was also present to help ensure the project a good start.
